UWS was part of the team commissioned by Western Water to investigate options to supply the Darley High Level zone and the connected downstream zones for a duration of ten weeks (April – June 2021) while the Darley High Level Basin underwent concrete repair and relining.

UWS reviewed 2018 and 2019 SCADA data to derive demand patterns for the zones. UWS then used the hydraulic water model to determine changes to the system required to supply the zone during the rehabilitation works.

Several options were presented to the operations staff, enabling them to select the optimum system operation with the lowest associated risk.
