The International Water Association’s biennial Water Loss Conference was held between June 19-22 at the Prague Congress Centre in the Czech Republic and was attended by over 350 delegates from 52 countries.
Urban Water Solutions’ Stuart Stapely chaired the second of two sessions on “Leak Detection technologies, strategies, equipment” held in the main conference North Hall.
Stuart gave a presentation on “Trialing Artificial Intelligence to find Leaks in Melbourne” in the “Innovative AI and Modelling Solutions” session. The presentation went well and elicited many interesting questions from the audience. Stuart’s presentation can be accessed via the conference website. (https://www.waterloss2022.org/)
The conference provided the first face to face opportunity to meet with international colleagues who also specialise in field of Water Loss in a long time. The range of papers and topics presented and discussed throughout the event provided attendees with insights into the latest developments and initiatives in the water industry worldwide.
It was pleasing to see the technical developments continue under Water 4.0, with not only a focus on water loss reduction and efficiency but now also carbon reduction.
Stuart highly recommends the IWA Water Loss Conference to those who want to learn more about this critical subject. The next Water Loss conference is April 14-17, 2024, in San Sebastian, Spain
